Dr. Bernard O’Reagain, the Principal Dentist at Windsor Crescent, engaged Apten Media to provide comprehensive IT Support services for the practice.
Our initial consultation revealed a need for extensive hardware replacement, an essential upgrade for the Windows server and mandatory security updates for several workstations.
Subsequently, a strategic plan was developed and executed. We commenced by overhauling the hardware infrastructure, replacing outdated networking cables and hubs with colour-coded, high-grade CAT6 STP cables and NetGear GS308E switches. Following the completion of the primary task, the practice noted an immediate difference in computer speed.
Our focus then shifted to upgrading the Windows Server from 2012 R2 to 2019, as the former fell out of extended support by Microsoft in October 2023.
Last on our plan was to bring all the workstations up-to-date and in-line with the latest security protocols. An off-site backup solution was also established to safeguard against critical faults.
